At AbunDANCE we want our dancers to look like...dancers! Appropriate dance wear actually enhances dancing and enables Miss Heather to better see body alignment in order to provide appropriate feedback - called corrections in the dance world!
And yet, we want our dancers to dress modestly. So, we do not permit excessively plunging necklines or exposed midriffs or unusually high thigh cuts. And we require tights under leotards.
So, here is our dance dance code for the youth dancers in beginner through advanced...
Ideally, adult ballet dancers should choose to follow this same dance dress code. However, they may also choose non-baggy athletic active wear in place of the leotard and tights especially if they are new to ballet or are in the stretch n strength class only.
And here is our dance code for the dancers in creative movement and preballet...
Please note that ballet pink is a light pink color like the tights and shoes in this photo.
The facility is often quite chilly so dance warm-up apparel is highly advisable.
Gum and jewelry are always prohibited.
Intermediate and advance ballet students, dance students taking 2 or more classes, and adult students may bring a water bottle.
Please contact Miss Heather if you have any questions about the dress code.
LA Dancewear in Beechmont (637 Ohio Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45245) is the closest dance wear store to Mount Orab if you would like helpful advice, fittings, and a good variety of selection. I just love visiting them and trying on items in person! They are always so helpful!
Discount Dance has extremely good quality dance wear and are usually fast in their delivery if the items are in stock. However, size is extremely difficult to judge online, though the reviews of items help a great deal.
