Spring Performance 2018!

I am beyond excited to announce AbunDANCE Ballet's 2018 Spring Production! This one is going to be even more amazing than before which seems almost unbelievable, except we have a God of the impossible who inspires every step!

His Deliverance: Stand Firm in Faith

"Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today."

Exodus 14:13

Our 2018 Spring Production is called "His Deliverance: Stand Firm in Faith" and it is the story of God's redemptive heart for us when we sin, and the journey and battle our hearts must undergo to stand firm in the abundant life He so freely gives. "His Deliverance: Stand Firm in Faith" is going to be powerful and life-changing.

In case you are new with us this year, the Spring Production is AbunDANCE's end of the year performance. Most dance studios will have a recital where each class gets to dance in a costume, but the show is one dance after the other with little connection between them. God showed me the first year of AbunDANCE that He had a greater vision. Our Spring Productions share a message, tell a story, touch the heart, awaken the spirit, and minister the truth of God to the community. Your kids get to dance in a costume and in their own dance, but they are a part of a bigger ministry. From the preparation in each class to the final bow, your kids will be challenged in the discipline of ballet AND their faith as they learn to weave the two together. I would not be surprised if the next weeks of preparation increased your children's faith and connection with God!

Heart of The Production

"His Deliverance: Stand Firm in Faith" will be a worship experience. Prepare to watch God move through your kids. And bring your tissues! It is my heart that God speaks to each person directly and shows you something that you will take with you into your life that convicts your spirit and encourages your walk with God. I want to stress that this production is not for entertainment purposes only - although watching your children dancing is sure to bring you joy I believe dance and the arts have a huge impact when used as tools for ministering truth and this is an aspect that your children have also been learning in class that they will get to demonstrate for you.

The first half of "His Deliverance: Stand Firm in Faith" is a story many people already know - the story of Eve's greatest mistake and God's greater plan.

God created Adam and Eve and told them that they could eat from any tree in the Garden of Eden, including the Tree of Life, but they could not eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. However, Eve listened to the serpent who is the enemy of God, Satan, and as she doubted what God said, she disobeyed God's command - the first sin. From her sin, shame, fear, pain, suffering, and death entered the world. But God showed His merciful heart, by covering Adam and Eve in animal skin as a sign of clothing them in His righteousness and to bring light to His plan to redeem the world through the sacrifice of the Messiah.

Many people can relate to Eve. I have often felt like I've made mistakes too great for God to ever take me back or use for His purpose. Yet, He did. Yet, He does. Because He is a merciful and loving God. He wants US.

But the story does not end there. . .

As I prayed over this year's Spring Production, God wanted to speak through this production to offer healing and hope to anyone who has strayed from Him. He wants to offer deliverance by welcoming them into the covering of His firstborn son who paved the way for us to have new life in Him. And He wants to teach His children to stand firm in Him no matter the enemy's schemes.

Thus, in the second half we see that the enemy still tries to thwart God's plan. I believe that after Eve left the Garden, she once again followed in God's ways. However, I do not believe the enemy left her alone. I believe she was his main target. So I believe that Eve had to learn from her mistake and to trust in God more than the doubt and shame the enemy tried to lure her into. She had to stand firm in her faith of what God said and the promise He left her that His was the ultimate victory. Through this production, God will bring victory. Please join me in praying for the ministry that will take place through this God-inspired production (both in the process with your kids and in the performance for the audience!)

We would like to thank Brown County Christian Academy for the use of their gymnasium/auditorium again this year.  They share the same vision of raising up children to follow after God, and they believe strongly in the impact of the arts as well. I am thrilled that AbunDANCE is able to grow alongside BCCA as we pour into this community together. God has some great plans for this area and I'm excited to be, and for you all to be, a part of it.

This performance will be FREE again this year; no tickets are required.

A love offering will be collected to support the ministry and outreach of AbunDANCE Worship Company.

Spring Performance 2017!!

Faith in Action: Journey Toward His Purpose

Saturday, April 28, 2017 at 3 pm and Sunday, April 29, 2017 at 3 pm

Most people probably understand the concept of a typical recital: work diligently for many months and then showcase talents in a beautiful and entertaining end-of-year display.

However, God has shown me that our Spring Performances are to be so much more!  They are to be powerful worship experiences for dancers and for audience members. As dancer, we can worship God with the gifts He has given us and using movement to express our hearts of praise to Him.  As audience members, you will have a set-apart time to connect with Him and worship Him, too.

Specifically, the Faith in Action: Journey Toward His Purpose will demonstrate the faith journey of believers by modeling the Exodus story.  Through faith, God can lead us out of our bondages and into His Promised Land where we can fulfill His purposes in our lives.

Each dance will represent an aspect of this faith journey as we show faith in action through dance (ballet, lyrical, contemporary), song, spoken word, and dramatization.

We pray that He breathes through the movements of each dancer and extends that invitation that is always available so that everyone will respond to His truth.

Because we had such an amazing turn-out last year, we will have two identical performances this year:

Saturday, April 28, 2017 at 3 pm

Sunday, April 29, 2017 at 3 pm
